Random Thoughts On The Bus - Cat Planet, Madonna, Batteries

The bus ride is a good place to do some deep and irrelevant thinking, unfortunately most of these thoughts go unrecorded. Today I decided to write them down as I thought of them. I share them with you here.

• Why don't we have flying cars yet? The technology is there, isn't it? Is this a conspiracy?

• In the end the bigger countries will win.

• Cats would make terrible workers, they lack motivation and the ability to focus. Hence a world run by cats is an improbability.

• There's way, way too much ocean. Shouldn't land be the more dominate feature on this planet? Are we supposed to evolve into merpeople?

• Who the hell would ever want to live on Mars anyways?

• If we went on a percentage basis, based on the entire population of the planet, I know a lot closer to nobody than to one person.

• I still don't understand electricity, among other things, and how it works.

• Did we stop trying to improve batteries? It seems like all we do is make them in new colors and give them fancier names. And how was it that certain batteries were designed to work better for portable CD players than other batteries?

• Are laser guns possible yet? If so, are they the ultimate weapon?

• I'm still not seeing robots on a daily basis.

• Who the hell still buys VHS tapes? Shouldn't these people be fined for taking up retail space that could be used for more DVD's?

• Am I gonna have to buy all my movies on DVD again when Blu-Ray or/and HD DVD's come out? If so, I am already getting pissed off with the thought. Will this also require a new TV?

• When will they make a flat screen TV that looks good as a display model? To me the picture always looks like crap. Is this because I'm looking at it from a foot away?

• If Madonna wasn't famous they (Penguin Books) would never have published those children's books she wrote. Who is the target audience for those things? Why does celebrity status mean that you can enter any media branch completely at will, with no quality level expected? Why can all actors/actresses sing? Why can't all singers act? Why can't I do either?

• More comedians need to do podcasts. I want a Lewis Black podcast.

• I hate having to switch from the bus to the subway, it involves way too many doors and escalators.
