Winners Don't Do Drugs (Even Legal Ones)
This one's a bit embarressing. For those that don't know, I have a few sleeping "issues" right now and hence have to take one or two prescription medications just to get to sleep at night. Last night I took them as usual, but at some ungodly hour at night I decided I absolutely HAD to write something for Mindre Panda. Not only that, bad I had to do it in bed, hiding underneath the duvet. As you can expect, my girlfriend just loved this. I don't remember finishing what I was writing and until five minutes ago I had no recollection whatsoever of what I had actually written. So here it is, warts and all, for your amusement. Oh and according to the timestamp it was last edited at 2:45am.
Remember kids: Don't do drugs.
I've been here nigh-on six years now.It is time to make a stand. Something has to be done, but what? Indeed, what am I talking about? Language. This isn't France where a knowledge of the local tongue is essential and an inability to even try is an insult.
No, this is Sweden, a curious half-state of affairs in that if you can either speak one of the six or so official languages you are fine otherwise we are just dandy with you speaking English as well.
And here lies the problem. I'm from Kenilworth, Warwickshire, slap bagf in the middle opf England, I was there for twenty-fivishn years until I ended up in London. Couple of years in London and Iin Stockholm and sixty years later after noving in with my (Sweedish9+098979 girlfriend and have done the bearest thing you can get to buying a flatr. I'm not going anywhere.
I have studied Swwedish since I have been here; Svebska för Invandrade and Svenska som AndraSpråk A and I am now on the final course, SAS B. Howevere the issue is that I can speak the kind of Sweedish that you do in lessons, but not the sort of Swedish that you might use when out for the night with my mates, So what I have decided to do is choose groups of peoöle to move to speaking swedish with and see how it affects out conveersation and perceptanced of each other,
