R Panda vs NHL
I wrote the NHL an e-mail with some choice words conveying not only my disappointment, but also my contempt for the league, players and owners if they actually think that fans are going to deal with the loss of another season by continuing to support the league in any manner. I did use some curse words, hence the response. Since I can only guess that they have an automated response system in place, I am assuming there is a lot of blasphemizing going on! Check it out...

Thanks for taking the time to write to the National Hockey League. Commissioner Bettman asked us to respond.
We want you to know how sorry we all are that, given the very practical reality that there were not enough days available to play a representative regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs, we were left with no choice but to cancel the remainder of the games scheduled for the 2004-05 campaign.
It is clear from the tone of your e-mail that you are extremely frustrated and upset because the NHL and NHL Players' Association have been unable to agree to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. To say the least, that exasperation is understandable.
Our objective is to negotiate a CBA that will ensure the financial strength of the League for years to come so that a work stoppage does not recur. The League will not waver in its commitment to solving the economic issues that threaten the future of our game. We remain hopeful that the players will join us soon in a partnership that will enable all 30 of our Clubs to be competitive and financially stable in their present markets.
The majesty and magic of our game must be preserved and secured for generations of fans to come. You deserve the best, and we are committed to making sure you receive it. We at the NHL deeply appreciate your devotion to our game.
