Pub Quizzes In Stockholm - Where To Think While You Drink

Need something to do during the week? Something that will give you something to look forward to while you're at your slave? How about showing off the vast amount of useless knowledge stored in your head. Yes, win valuable prizes, like beer, by attending one of Stockholm's fine pub quizzes.
Here are three pubs here in town that have Quiz Nights, all of which are in English -
• The Tudor Arms
Grevgatan 31
Located in deepest darkest Östermalm, the Tudor Arms is the oldest English pub in Stockholm. It is a small place, but filled with atmosphere, so much so that when you leave you may be surprised not to find yourself in Kent. Good beer, good food, not too expensive, and definitely worth the 5 minute jaunt from Östermalmstorg.
Quiz Night every Monday at 7:30-8, get there early the place fills up. You should also be prepared to fork over 20 kr to enter. But, if you're wicked smart you'll get that back by placing in the top 3, and then some.
• Wirströms
Stora Nygatan 13
Wirström's is located in Gamla Stan, thankfully a little off the main drag. It is a great pub with a number of beers on tap, and a lot of seating. If the upstairs is full, and that includes the dart room, you'll have to enter the catacombs in the basement. They have a pub menu that includes everything from bacon and egg toast toIrish Stew, and you'll actually be able to afford to eat there.
Quiz Night is every other Thursday downstairs, and starts at 7 (technically, but it usually starts later), get there very early if you want to be in the main room where the action is. The quiz is movie and music themed and you're gonna need a team for it, since the stuff they ask is very random. Lots of prizes. Entrance is free.
• The Dubliner Southside
Hornsgatan 104
The Southside Dubliner, located right outside Zinkensdam's subway station, is a bit less daunting and more relaxed than it's older brother by Norrmalmstorg. They have the same food and beer selection (the lamb is awesome), but you'll find less people and more space. They have a downstairs area for sporting events (read English football) on a huge screen, and live music upstairs just about every day.
Quiz Night is every Thursday at 7 (although like all the other's it tends to start later.) The prize for the winners is 400kr, you can make a guess at why I know this. (Go team "Guinness Win Us"!) They also have extra prizes (beer) for individual questions. Entrance is free.
• Bagpiper's Inn
Rörstrandsgatan 21
Located by S:t Eriksplan, and not the cheapest place in town, remember that. I don't really have much information about the quiz night here, but apparantely they have one. They don't have a website, so you'll have to call them for more details.
There you have it. some midweek entertainment (and learning). Go forth and conquer.
